Control Room

Our Dolby Atmos™ ready control room measures 8 x 5.3 m and is designed to provide highly accurate acoustics. It features vintage tube gear as well as state-of-the-art digital equipment and offers artists the option of using a 2″ 24-track MCI JH24 with Dolby SR analogue recording system or Pro Tools (48in/56out).

At its heart rests a 48-channel Raindirk Symphony LN1 console, a model that has mixed legendary performances such as the Three Tenors at the Barcelona Olympics, Pavarotti in the Park in London and Pink Floyd’s The Wall in Berlin.

Sala Grande / Rec Room A

Designed also by acoustic engineer Christian Malcurt (Artistic Palace in Paris), our main recording room measures 8.5 x 6 x 4.5m high. It features a model B Steinway & Sons grand piano and boasts excellent acoustic also thanks to abam and maple diffusors.

The Sala Grande offers a stunning view over the surrounding Pisan Hills and is equipped with moveable acoustic isolation screens made from ceramic on one side and sound absorbing material on the other, making it possible to modify the acoustics and/or to separate session musicians for a perfect balance of sound.

Sala Piccola / Rec Room B

Our second recording room measures 5.4 x 3.7 x 2.7 m high and is characterized by a short reverberation time. It features an original Hammond B3 organ with double Leslie 122 RV and Tone Cabinet and a Fender Rhodes Mark I electric piano.

Separated by a large window it enables a clear line of sight between session musicians in the Sala Grande. The room can be converted into a second control room (24 in/8 out). Our Sala Piccola is also equipped with mobile sound insulation screens.

Production Room / Rec Room C

A great space for composing equipped with a Soundcraft 2824 LED console and hosts a vast collection of vintage synths and drum machines from the past century, mainly the 1960s, 70s and 80s, like Yamaha DX7, Korg MS 20 MK1 or the Farfisa Deluxe.

The room measures 4.1 x 3.9 x 3.4 m high and its vintage equipment is connected to the Soundcraft mixer and the control room.

Machine Room / Rec Room D

Thanks to dedicated wiring, our machine room  it can also be used as an amp booth. It houses an MCI JH-24 tape machine, a classic analogue multitrack recorder from the 1980s.

Furthermore, the studio’s stairwell is often used as a reverberation chamber and is a favourite with many musicians and sound engineers who come to record in our studio.

Lounge / Rec Room E

With a magnificent view on the surrounding Pisan hills, our lounge provides relaxation between sessions. As it is directly connected to our control room, it can also function as a workstation or even a live room.

Our Lounge measures 4.4  x 4.1 x 3.7 m high and features sofa and armchair, a conference table for meetings, a work desk setup with an iMac computer and speakers for editing or composing, a dining table and kitchenette as well as a coffee bar. Wi-Fi and an FTP address are available.

Rehearsal Spaces / Connessioni

The small local Teatro di Lari theatre is connected with our studio, it is less than a minute’s walk  and provides a fantastic and intimate space for rehearsals, recording, videoclip… With 400 seats and a stage of over 200 m² and its orchestra pit, the nearby Teatro Verdi theatre in Casciana Terme can host larger rehearsals, as well as setups for tours.

In addition, our studio is directly connected with neuralgic points of the village via dedicated fibre optic cable and can thus simultaneously send and receive audio-video signals coming from the castle, the church, the theatre, the main square and the municipal garden, that become thereby live spaces or performance places.
