SAMworld
Founded by Mirco Mencacci in 1981, SAMworld gathered highest expertise and international recognition within film, art and music.
Over the decades we have recorded and supervised the production of countless artists from classical to jazz, from pop and experimental. In 1996 SAMworld branched out to Rome with three additional studios, supervising the audio-visual post production of over 400 films, many of which were awarded at major festivals and exhibited at renowned venues such as the Guggenheim and MOMA in New York, Pompidou in Paris, MAXXI in Rome and the Venice Biennale.

The Studio
Our Atmos™-certified studio was designed by acoustic designer Christian Malcurt and provides the highest standard in digital and analogue audio recording and production.
Two recording rooms with a wide range of backline instruments and rare microphones, a control room equipped with a 48-channel LN1 Raindirk Symphony console and a production room with an extensive collection of vintage synthesizers give a free reign to creativity.

A life dedicated to sound
Mirco Mencacci
SAMworld founder and artistic director Mirco Mencacci has recorded music of all genres and worked with the main Italian jazz artists.
He curated live recordings for national television RAI and the likes of conductor Zubin Mehta. A regular guest on radio and TV, Mirko served as consultant, lecturer and instructor on all key elements of sound, noise and vibration on both sides of the Atlantic. He previously taught sound design at the Syracuse University in the State of New York and the CPM Music Institute in Milan amongst others. In 2004 he developed the Spherical Sound System for capturing immersive sound.
